Juan Carlos Ospina Sanchez

Initiating himself into dancing in 2001 Dance Co Sondeluz in the city of Cali, Colombia. Juan devoted himself to deeply studying all mainstream and traditional Latin American rhythms, the foxtrot, bolero, paso doble and others along side Salsa. 

Passionate about spreading his craft, Juan Co-Founded Stilo y Sabor  Dance School alongside World Champions Ricardo Murillo and Vivivana Vargas in 2005 where he continued with the same line of work extending the practice of dance rhythms to the study of national and international salsa such as the style of Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, New York and Cali style Salsa.

Along the way:

• Fourth place on1 category in the World Salsa Championships held in the city of Cali with a total participation of 160 couples dance. September 2009.
•  Fifth place in the category cabaret world salsa championship held in the city of Cali with a total participation of 160 couples dance. September 2009.
• Second place in national championship Colombia salsa congress held in the city of Medellin. Category Cabaret. July 2009.
• Fourth place in the national championship of Colombia salsa congress held in the city of Medellin. Category ON1. July 2009.
• Third place in the national championship a couple sauce made in the city of Medellin. August 2008.
• Participation in the salsa contest couple "the golden shoe. August 2008.
• First place in the qualifiers to the World Orlando - Florida held at the World Salsa Congress in Los Angeles. May 3008
• Second place in partner in the contest organized by the club sauce Jose. July 2007

Juan will be debuting 2 New Choreographies created exclusively for the Australian Salsa Classic 2011 and bringing Cali - Colombia Style Salsa to Sydney through His Immersion Courses!

Between them Carlos Galiano and Elli Torres have represented Brisbane, Australia as instructors and performers, locally, nationally and at International Salsa Congresses. Among these are Madrid (2004), Los Angeles (2005), Barcelona (2006), Sydney (2004-2008), New Zealand (2008) and India (2008).

Carlos and Elli are Queensland and Australian Salsa Champions 2009 (Cabaret Division). They are the leading Australian couple in lifts and tricks.
As instructors, Carlos and Elli enjoy sharing their dance knowledge and inspiring others with their passion for dance. With a combined 12 years of dance instruction, performances and competitions, they are a sought after dance duo, captivating onlookers with their energy and flair on the dance floor. Salsa is Carlos and Elli's forte, depicted by a strong masculine style, coupled with feminine elegance.
They have also developed a unique style of Bachata, based on exposure to this style while living in Spain and choreographing for landmark video clips, namely Grupo Aventura's number 1 Bachata hit single 'Obsession' (Marbella, 2004). They are currently recognized as leading names in the world of Bachata, with invitations to teach and perform at international Bachata festivals, including the Sydney Bachata Festival (2008) and Bachatando Festival, Belgium (2009).
Carlos and Elli are founders of Brisbane's premier Salsa academy, Latin Steps Dance Company and BRAVO Latin Events.

Oliver & Luda have been dancing together for 15 years and are the current 5 time World Salsa Champions making them undoubtedly the best Salsa/Mambo dance couple in Australia. They are the winners of the 2001 IDO World Salsa Championships, 2005 Puerto Rican Open, and the 1^st, 2nd & 3^rd Annual World Salsa Championships held in Las Vegas 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Known for their breathtakingly perfect style, genius musical interpretation and clear precise teaching methods, this couple is one of the worlds most admired and sought after dancers and instructors. Currently taking the Salsa world by storm this dynamic duo’s experiences range from Multiple Australian Dance Sport Champions, Australian Salsa Champions to 5 time World Salsa Champions.

Oliver and Luda have been featured as special guests on the Channel 7 television hit show "Dancing with the Stars" and as choreographers on Channel 10’s “So You Think You Can Dance”.

Oliver, the creator of his own ‘Aussie Style Salsa’ has been spreading this new phenomenon to Congresses all over the world. Having created a following of Aussie Style dancers from around the globe, Oliver & Luda have gained the respect of dancers and promoters alike and will continue to place ‘Aussie Style Salsa’ firmly on the map for many years to come.
